Albert Botha

Head of Fixed Income at Ashburton Investments

Botha has been the Head of Fixed Income at Ashburton Investments since 2017. With almost two decades of experience in financial markets, he manages the Fixed Income team and the investment process. He is responsible for several portfolios across various asset classes in the emerging and developed markets space. During his tenure, the fixed income business has grown more than tenfold to almost R60bn. Botha holds a BCom degree (Stellenbosch) and is an Associate Actuary (AIA). He enjoys reading, cooking, and savouring a good meal paired with a great bottle of wine. Curiosity has always been a core trait of his personality, and he loves learning things, whether it is new ideas in portfolio management or how whisky is made.
