The past two weeks in South Africa felt like an economic roller coaster. Zuma’s resignation and Mr Cyril Ramaphosa’s appointment as President of South Africa led to the term ‘Ramaphoria’, and this assisted the ZAR to reach the R11,50: USD1 level, a level last seen in February 2015. The 2018 Budget presented by Minister Mulasi Gigaba and the Cabinet re-shuffle created more economic uncertainty. And now, the phrase ‘land expropriation without compensation’ is on everybody’s lips.
