Old Mutual Emerging Markets (OMEM) has appointed Casper Troskie as Financial Director (FD) effective 01 April 2018. This follows Mike Ilsley stepping down as FD in November 2017 due to health reasons.
“Casper will also become FD-Designate for Old Mutual Limited (OML), the new South African holding company which is planned to be listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in 2018 as part of Old Mutual plc’s Managed Separation strategy,” the company said in a statement.
Troskie has served as Financial Director of Liberty Group Ltd and Liberty Holdings Ltd since October 2010. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Standard Bank of South Africa Limited and has held a number of senior leadership roles at Deloitte and other listed companies. He is a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Cape Town.
Peter Moyo, CEO of OMEM and CEO-Designate OML said, “I am pleased that Casper will be joining us during this critical time as we look to list OML on the JSE as planned this year. He brings a wealth of experience in senior leadership roles in listed financial services companies, and will be a valuable member of our team.”
Troskie said: “I am very excited to be joining OMEM at such a significant time in its history. I look forward to being part of the team that will be listing OML as a premium African financial services provider.”
